Pre-K Counts / ITCS

Enrolling your child in a high-quality pre-kindergarten program, such as PA Pre-K Counts, provides a strong foundation for their educational journey. Beyond learning early reading and math skills, pre-kindergarten helps children develop essential abilities like paying attention, following directions, and interacting positively with others. These early experiences foster excitement about learning and set children up for success in kindergarten and beyond. A solid start in pre-kindergarten increases the likelihood of academic achievement, future college or career training, and ultimately, securing a good job. PA Pre-K Counts offers families an opportunity to give their children this advantage at no cost.

PA Pre-K Counts is designed for children ages three to kindergarten entry and is available to families earning up to 300% of the federal poverty level. Each program may have specific guidelines, so interested families should check eligibility requirements. Enrollment is free, making it an accessible option for many families across Pennsylvania. To find a Pre-K Counts classroom near you, visit www.compass.state.pa.us and navigate to “Early Learning and Development Programs” to locate a provider.
